In celebration of Death-Fail Sunday:
THE LAST ENEMY
Certainty, mortality
With wings that span the ages
To imprison us in cages
Be it known that you are through
Your dominion universal
Quakes in shock of revolution
From within your very dungeons
Breaks the freedom of the truth
Empty tomb defies your power
Reign of death, your crown contested
Iron hand, your might arrested
Gnash your teeth in futile rage
Your great sadistic conquest -
Morning light reveals the mockery
Sunday dawns the day of victory
Termination of your age
Illusion of potency
You come to claim your victims
As a right and as libation
Sacrifices to your thirst
We deny your jurisdiction
By the blood that paid our way
We pass unharmed through your gates
As those no longer cursed
Fallen demi-god of earth
Let us make our mutiny known
We expel you from your throne
Here is what you can expect:
As we serve another King
We will battle you for souls
We will cheat you of your tolls
“The last enemy to be destroyed… is death”
